VICENZAORO Fuori Fiera – Golden taste edition
“VIOFF” is the Fuori Fiera (Off Show) organized by Vicenza Municipality with the collaboration of gold and jewellery category associations, traders and businesses in the historical centre and Aim Group: a not-to-be-missed event for buyers, insiders, tourists and citizens, scheduled for Saturday 22nd September in the heart of the city’s historical centre and set to coincide with VICENZAORO September, one of the top and most prestigious international gold and jewellery trade shows.
A unique and enthralling experience in a city full of life where concerts, the territories best products, entertainment, stores and open museums will be alternating amid gold, food and culture to conclude with a grand finale in piazza dei Signori.
“VIOFF is a chance for our exhibitors and visitors from all over the world to truly enjoy the city of Vicenza,” says Marco Carniello, IEG’s Division Director Jewellery & Fashion. “It is also an important contribution to the success of the Show itself.”.
The recurring theme of the VIOFF– Golden taste edition programme is the territory’s quality wine and food products in the Year of Italian food, promoted by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism. In fact, on Saturday 22nd September, over 100 stores in the historical centre will be setting up an area to promote a typical local product. Moreover, Viale Rumor will become an authentic street food location in an initiative organized by Cucine a motore – Food Truck Festival, while Corso Fogazzaro will be offering numerous tasting points and typical fish products from Chioggia’s Associazione Marinerie Venete will be taking the stage in Piazza Castello.
Culture will also be playing a leading role in the first edition of VIOFF: starting with music and the various concerts in the historical centre organized by Vicenza’s Conservatorio Pedrollo and a jazz session in the square outside the Exhibition Centre from 6 pm on.
Throughout the day until 10 pm, all the city’s museums will be open and accessible with just one special ticket. Indeed, at a symbolic price of just 5 Euros, visitors will be able to tour the Civic Art Gallery in Palazzo Chiericati, Santa Corona Church, the Naturalist Archaeological Museum, Palazzo Leoni Montanari – Gallerie d'Italia, the Palladio Museum, Diocesan Museum and Museo dei Gioielli Jewellery Museum. To coincide with VICENZAORO September, this latter museum will be inaugurating the “Jewels of Power, Crowns and Tiaras” exhibition, an excursus among crowns and tiaras of the past and present in a leap into the tastes and styles of different ages through the works of great artists.
Also available will be a large number of guided tours to discover the city in collaboration with several authorized tourist guides: starting from Piazza Matteotti at 6.30 pm to 8 pm (an English-speaking guide will also be available at this time), participants will be able to follow an itinerary, free of charge, outside the city’s main monuments, while at 8.30 pm, those in possession of a special ticket, will also benefit from a guided tour inside Palazzo Chiericati and Santa Corona Church (to book: email@example.com).
Furthermore, a guided tour of Vicenza’s historical workshop stores will be organized at 6.30 pm leaving from the columns in Piazza dei Signori and going to Palazzo Leoni Montanari – Gallerie d'Italia. From 5 pm to 9.30 pm, it will also be possible to take part in a themed walk, entitled “Jewellery and fashion from ancient times to the Venetian 1700s” in search of several masterpieces.
Members of the Vicenza Circolo Fotografico photography club, founded in 1955, will be available during the event to immortalize the evening’s most intriguing moments.
And then there is gold: large golden balloons floating in the air and golden bubbles drawn on the pavements will accompany the evening’s guest as far as piazza dei Signori. The Basilica’s upper loggia and terrace will be hosting an exclusive event organized by IEG with VO+ magazine: an “Open Cocktail” evening and a unique opportunity for an exclusive public of journalists, exhibitors and International buyers to admire the city.
As a preview on Friday 21st, nearby Piazzetta Palladio will be hosting “Pizza in The Piazza”, a dinner organized by IEG for the sector’s International press which, during the day, will have toured the city and Olympic Theatre. In the lower loggia of the Basilica Palladiana, in collaboration with the jewellery company Dorica de Nove, Soprana jewellery store will be offering a temporary exhibition of Treasure jewels, with performances from dancers and models and, after the museum closes at about 10 pm, the walls of the Basilica will become the backdrop for an original architectural video-mapping performance to highlight Palladio’s architectonic aspects.
Following this projection, Piazza dei Signori will become the stage for a huge party with musical entertainment organized by the Cuore Matto staff.
