Technological solutions for sustainability and responsible sourcing in the jewellery industry
At Vicenzaoro September 2019, the topic of the seminar organized by CIBJO, The World Jewellery Confederation, will be sustainability and responsible sourcing in the Jewellery industry. Nowaday companies are under growing pressure to actively demonstrate that they are conducting their businesses in a sustainable manner, and the items that they purchase, process and sell, as well as the components of which the Jewellery is comprised, have been sourced responsibly.
A growing percentage of the industry have moved to implement sustainable and responsible sourcing principles in their businesses. Some have appointed professionals and established specialized units in their companies, and have already become certified or are becoming certified by compliance organizations. But in an industry that is dominated by small and medium-sized companies, like the Jewellery industry, many participants find it difficult to follow virtuous examples.
To help them in this effort there are a growing number of developing solutions based on technologies, some of which are relatively straightforward and other quite sophisticated and ground-breaking.
An exhaustive overview of these new solutions will be presented at Vicenzaoro
