Bulgari and Mary Katrantzou
The last show of the 2019 fashion week took place set against the background of the ancient Temple of Poseidon at Capo Sounion. This extraordinary location was chosen by designer Mary Katrantzou to present her Spring-Summer 2020 collection.
The Greek designer worked with Lucia Silvestri, Creative Director of Bulgari Gioielli, to define the last details of the looks for the fashion show. For the occasion, the models showed off jewellery from the Alta Gioielleria and Heritage collection by the Bulgari brand, which also produced an original necklace set with an original coin from Ancient Greece.
A deep connection with its Mediterranean origins, influences from Classical Greece and the magnificence of the architecture and art of Ancient Rome: this is how Bulgari has always managed to create jewellery with a high value in terms of design and symbolism.
With this collaboration the brand paid tribute to the Greek origins of its founder, Sotirio Bulgari. The unique piece, made for the fashion show, features combinations of ancient coins – real archaeological finds – and the most contemporary and essential contemporary design.
