TUTIMA - The Excellence of Made in Germany up close: history and technology of the Glashütte brand
Saturday, September 7, 2024
2:00 pm - 2:45 pm
VOC Experience Area 8.1
More than 90 years of watchmaking tradition and MANUFACTURE OF THE YEAR 2018 (German award): the history of the German brand Tutima began in Glashütte in 1927, where functional watches were given the insignia “Tutima,” derived from “tutus,” the Latin word for “safe.” After decades in Lower Saxony, Glashütte is where the family business returned in 2011. In addition to successful pieces such as the legendary 1941 Pilot's Chronograph, the Homage Minute Repeater, and the Tempostopp, the demand for horological perfection is sustained by the brand's four model lines: the rugged M2, the distinctive Grand Flieger, the classic Patria, and the unmistakable Saxon One, which makes its entry into the luxury class.

VOC Dialogues 7.1
The event begins with a brief presentation of the speakers and the Inceptum brand, an emerging name in the Italian watch industry. The story presented is that of two young men who, starting from a university project, managed to create a high-quality Italian-made caliber. The company stands out for the production of watches made in Italy, including the mechanical movement, facing the challenges and criticalities of the industry, but also taking advantage of the unique opportunities that such a reality entails.
During the event, the limited edition “Sigma” will be described, with a focus on the first caliber designed and built by Inceptum. Finally, exclusively for VO'Clock, the new caliber will be unveiled with a display of the first prototype, marking an important milestone for the brand.
