La Fenice by Gismondi 1754: Triumph at the Couture Design Award 2024

The world of high jewellery is enriched by masterpieces that capture everyone's imagination and admiration. This year, that jewel was La Fenice by Gismondi 1754, a majestic and one-of-a-kind work, which won the renowned Couture Design Award in the Diamond Creations category.

The heart and soul behind this extraordinary creation is Massimo Gismondi, the Creative Director and CEO of Gismondi 1754. The Phoenix, inspired by the mythical creature that rises from the ashes, not only represents a tribute to Egyptian and Greek mythology, but also embodies resilience and rebirth.

The process of creating La Fenice was a true journey into art and craftsmanship. More than 500 hours of work were dedicated to its creation, involving a team of master jewelers who transformed an initial concept into a reality vibrant with light. From the initial sketch to the wax mold, from the casting of the metals to the hand-setting of over 100 carats of diamonds, every step of the process was carried out with impeccable precision at the Genoa atelier.

The magnificence of La Fenice lies not only in its external beauty, but also in its profound symbolism. It represents the possibilities of the future interpreted in a complex and unique multidimensional form, reflecting the grave and delicate movements of the Phoenix rising from its ashes.

In receiving the prestigious Couture Design Award, Massimo Gismondi expressed his gratitude at seeing his work recognized internationally. “I am truly honored to be recognized for this exceptional piece which was a work of passion and determination during a difficult time for me,” he said. “The Phoenix represents the possibilities of the future interpreted in a complex and unique multidimensional form with the movements of the Phoenix.”
