Nuove visioni per Damiani

“Oltretempo” is the name of the project conceived by the European Institute of Design in Turin in collaboration with Damiani to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the Valenzana maison.
On October 30th, at the Gallerie d'Italia in Turin, eight thesis projects from graduates in Jewelry and Accessories Design unveiled an exclusive capsule collection, where the heritage of an iconic brand intertwines with emerging creativity, responding to the question: "What does it mean to create timeless jewellry that resonates with the present?" Guided by Daniela Bulgarelli and designer Samuele Armellin, the students delved into the values and aesthetics of Damiani, bringing forth new creations that blend inspiration from art, architecture, and personal experiences with the technical savoir-faire of the maison. With an interdisciplinary approach, IED Turin curated a targeted educational path aimed at fostering creative contaminations, enabling young designers to master diverse languages and transcend disciplinary boundaries.
“The collaboration with Damiani provides our students with a tangible experience where innovation meets tradition,” explained Paola Zini, Director of IED Turin. Giorgio Grassi Damiani, Vice President of the group, emphasized the importance of engaging with new generations, which is essential for renewing and transmitting the brand's heritage.
The “Oltretempo” installation reflects this synergy.
The designers reinterpreted some of the most iconic collections, such as Damianissima and Belle Époque, creating jewelry that pays homage to tradition while surpassing it, in an experience enhanced by photographs and videos from Pepe Fotografia.
