An auction with a noble air

An auction with a noble air

Jewellery as well as rare items, such as a snuffbox with an ivory miniature of Emperor Alexander II, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan. On Monday 11th November next, some highly fascinating and historical rarities belonging to some of the most important aristocratic families in Europe will be taking centre stage.

All eyes on a pair of modular earrings by Faraone, with about 22.30 carats of Colombian pear emeralds and 30 carats of diamonds in their original box, estimated to sell for between 450,000 and 600,000 Euros.

No less interesting is an extremely rare snuffbox with an ivory miniature of Emperor Alexander II created for the Imperial Russian Court by the jeweller Bolin, with an estimated value of between 100,000 and 150,000 Euros, while the yellow gold and enamel box depicting the initials of Charles Albert of Savoy and the Savoy’s Kingdom of Sardinia emblem is more affordable at between 15,000 and 20,000 Euros and was probably produced in Turin between 1830 and 1850.

And then one could bid for a yellow gold cigarette holder and a set of cufflinks and buttons in yellow gold with sapphires and diamonds (estimated at between 9,000 and 13,000 Euros) that belonged to Marlene Dietrich, accompanied by an autographed letter, and an en tremblant floral brooch in platinum with pear, navette, round and baguette diamonds to a total of about 20 carats by Bulgari, estimated to fetch between 150,000 and 170,000 Euros.

The auction will continue with a platinum ring with an 8.81 carat Colombian emerald (90,000-100,000€), a rare, no oil, 4.18 carat Colombian emerald (65,000-75,000€), a ring with a pink sapphire of about 6.53 carats (25,000-35,000€) and another with a 5.50 carat, non-heated Burmese ruby (40,000-50,000€). Also putting in an appearance are top brands like Cartier, Pomellato, Vhernier, Webb and Buccellati – with 22 lots including a white gold and diamond earring and ring set complete with box and guarantee, and a yellow and white gold ring with a sapphire of about 6 carats.

Last but not least, a series of iconic designer items and unmissable watches, including two Rolex GMT Ref.1675, one in yellow gold and the other in steel and plastic glass; a 1975 Rolex Precision with personalized Arab Emirates dial and a steel Rolex Daytona 6265.
