On National F@MU Day – Families at the Museum, and in the run-up to Halloween, themed tours and engaging workshops for children offer an opportunity to visit the current exhibition before the opening of the new one.
Vicenza, October 7, 2025 – The Vicenza Jewellery Museum, a benchmark for the promotion of Italian jewellery, inaugurates autumn with new offerings dedicated to families, focusing on creativity, sustainability, and play, where the beauty of design blends with the value of knowledge and participation. Two special days designed to engage adults and children in a shared, interactive, and fun experience, renewing the museum's commitment to passing on the culture and tradition of Vicenza's goldsmithing art to new generations: National Family Day at the Museum and the first workshop for families, which kicks off the cycle of precious weekends.
FAMILIES AT THE MUSEUM WITH F@MU (October 12)
On the occasion of National Families at the Museum Day (F@MU), scheduled for Sunday, October 12, Vicenza opens the doors of its museums to families with a rich program of activities on the theme of ecology and environmental protection. The Jewellery Museum is participating in the initiative, together with six other museums in the city, offering “Sparks of Nature: Little Guardians Among Jewels and Biodiversity,” an adventurous and entertaining journey. Among precious stones and animal-shaped goldsmith creations, the museum's rooms will host an exciting quest designed for children, guided by clues and captions to explore the theme of biodiversity and its value, in line with the national F@MU 2025 theme, “AmbientateVi al Museo” (Get involved in the Museum).
To complete the experience, there will be a creative workshop in which children will make a small precious bee, a symbol of natural balance and protection of the planet. The activity is designed to stimulate the imagination and raise awareness of ecology among the younger generation through design. The initiative, recommended for children aged 5 to 12, is free and can be accessed freely from 10:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no reservation required. Promoted by the F@MU Association with the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, F@MU Day is coordinated locally by the Department of Culture, Tourism, and Attractiveness of the Municipality of Vicenza, in collaboration with partners from the city's museum circuit. In the heart of Vicenza's goldsmith district, the Jewellery Museum offers original and engaging content that combines education, sustainability, and the promotion of artistic heritage accessible to families and children.
SCARY JEWELLERY, READY FOR HALLOWEEN (October 26)
On Sunday, October 26, there will be a preview of Halloween: the magic of precious stones will be transformed into inspiration for thrilling creations in the event that opens the cycle of precious weekends at the Museum. From 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Jewellery Museum offers children and families the creative workshop “Scary Jewellery,” an unmissable opportunity to prepare for the most terrifying night of the year. During the morning, in the spaces inside the Basilica Palladiana, children will be enchanted by the museum's collections on display and will be able to create unique pieces of jewellery, combining imagination and craftsmanship. A special moment to explore the wonders of the museum in a thrilling atmosphere, enjoying an experience of play, discovery, and sharing where every idea comes to life as a creation to wear, before immersing themselves in a creative workshop with recycled materials. The activities, curated by Scatola Cultura, will offer an immersive and fun experience for the whole family. To participate in the workshop, you must book by writing to info@museodelgioiello.it or by calling 0444 32079.

JEWELLERY MUSEUM
The first museum in Italy and one of the few in the world dedicated exclusively to jewellery art, the Jewellery Museum in Vicenza is a permanent exhibition space covering 410 square meters located inside the Palladian Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in the heart of the city's historic center. Opened in 2014, it is a project promoted by Italian Exhibition Group S.p.A. and, since 2025, managed by Vicenza Holding S.p.A., the company representing the Municipality of Vicenza, the Province of Vicenza, and the Vicenza Chamber of Commerce, in the trade fair company organizing the Vicenzaoro international jewellery show. The museum aims to celebrate the tradition of one of Italy's most important goldsmithing districts, offering an original aesthetic and educational experience dedicated to an object with ancient origins deeply rooted in human culture. Designed by Patricia Urquiola, the museum is spread over two floors: on the ground floor, there is a bookshop with national and international publications on the subject and a room dedicated to temporary exhibitions and workshops; on the upper floor, there is a permanent exhibition area hosting long-term exhibitions.
