The Veneto Region: the Vicenza Goldsmith District

The Veneto Region: the Vicenza Goldsmith District

Veneto, and in particular the area from Vicenza to Bassano del Grappa and Trissino, is one of the most renowned industrial hubs in the national landscape, where a true production district has developed, hosting the entire goldsmith supply chain.

The range of goldsmith production in Vicenza is very diverse and includes leading companies in the production of machinery and technologies for the sector, goldsmith manufacturers, producers of semi-finished products and components for jewellery creation, contemporary jewellery brands that mainly use silver for their collections, high jewellery manufacturers, and specialists in the creation of packaging and visual merchandising solutions, including customised ones.

The companies that belong to the Vicenza goldsmith district take part in Vicenzaoro to meet an international audience and expand their business. In fact, the District boasts an image of excellence in goldsmith production and the processing of precious metals at an international level, thanks to its ability to constantly innovate.

A very important role in the development and growth of the district is played by consortia and trade associations, which support and assist companies in their national and international expansion.

The Veneto Region, in addition to being famous and well-known for its goldsmith tradition—being one of the main production districts of the sector in Italy—is also known worldwide for its artistic, cultural, and food and wine heritage: The Land of Venice.

With nine sites, Veneto ranks second only to Lombardy in the number of assets included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and in particular Vicenza boasts the splendid loggias of the Basilica in Piazza dei Signori, the Teatro Olimpico, and many other works gifted to the city by Palladio.

It is precisely inside the Palladian Basilica that the Museo del Gioiello (Jewellery Museum) is located—the first in Italy and one of the few in the world dedicated exclusively to jewellery—a permanent museum space of 410 square metres that offers an original aesthetic and educational experience on jewellery, enhancing an ancient object deeply rooted in human culture.

Nine rooms present an entirely Italian selection of jewellery, dedicated to the production of large maisons and small and medium-sized companies from the goldsmith districts of the territory, to artisanal excellence, artistic experimentation, and the research of independent designers.
