Growth and Stability for Vicenzaoro September 2023

Vicenzaoro continues to grow, recording a 6% increase in total visitors at the September edition.
Foreign participation reaches 50% with 132 represented nations, including many new presences.

Among international visitors, 52% come from European Union countries, 17% from Asia and the Middle East, 11% from the Americas, 4% from Africa, and 1% from Oceania. Spain, Germany, and France are the most representative European countries, followed by the United States, which leads the ranking of non-EU visitors.

The recently concluded edition saw a significant increase in arrivals from various countries, including Switzerland (+46%), Belgium (+25%), UAE (+23%), and Turkey (+6%). Among the new presences, African countries such as Mozambique, Ghana, Mauritius, Benin, Zambia, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, and Kenya were recorded. Additionally, there were new participations from more distant locations, including the Virgin Islands, Mongolia, New Zealand, and Vanuatu.

Vicenzaoro September confirms the solidity of the Italian jewellery sector, with growth in both turnover (+10.2% in the first six months) and exports (+9.3% in the first five months) of "Made in Italy".

The strength of the sector was also confirmed by the Minister of Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, in his welcome message during the opening ceremony of Vicenzaoro, which began with a tribute to the recently deceased President Lorenzo Cagnoni.

These figures highlight the important role of Vicenzaoro as a catalyst for Italian exports in an international context. Vicenzaoro remains a reference point for major international buyers, hosting 400 foreign buyers thanks to a program organized by the ICE Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Through the collaboration of Trendvision Jewellery + Forecasting with IEG and under the direction of Paola De Luca, the most recent trends in the jewellery sector are presented at Vicenzaoro September, providing a preview of the path designers, the market, and consumers will follow over the next 18 months through the launch of the Trendbook 2025+. This event is a key reference point for the entire community interested in understanding the future of the sector, addressing key issues such as the impact of artificial intelligence on human creativity in jewellery design, discussed both in the Trendbook and in the international seminars leading up to the World Conference in Jaipur in October.

Vicenzaoro consolidates its presence in the watchmaking sector, involving a B2B community of TIME operators and organizing the VO'Clock Privé event, open to the B2C public. In total, around sixty entities in the watch industry were involved, both in the exhibition area and in discussion sessions and seminars that connect experts and enthusiasts.

A collaborative program of events between IEG, the municipal administration, and economic categories, together with various local organizations, gave life to VIOFF, the Fuori Fiera of Vicenzaoro. This program offers Italian and international visitors the opportunity to discover Vicenza through sensory experiences embracing food and wine, artistic heritage, and museums in the city's key points, making it the capital of jewellery.

In terms of visibility, the 2023 edition of Vicenzaoro September recorded a total of 134,830,414 gross media contacts, both in Italy and abroad. Vicenzaoro's social channels received almost 20 million impressions during the event. Professional operator views on exhibitor profiles on the B2B platform The Jewellery Golden Cloud exceeded 150,000, marking a 15% growth compared to the previous year.

Vicenzaoro September has finally become an international benchmark also thanks to the participation of important institutional and trade organizations, including Confindustria Federorafi, Confartigianato Orafi, Confcommercio Federpreziosi, CNA Orafi, Confimi Industria Categoria Orafa ed Argentiera, Assogemme, Assocoral, and AFEMO (the Association of Jewellery Machinery Manufacturers and Exporters), CIBJO (the World Jewellery Confederation), and the MAECI (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation) and ICE (Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies).
