Vicenzaoro January: Celebrating 70 Years of the World’s Longest-Running Jewellery Show
Vicenzaoro by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) announces the beginning of the 70th anniversary celebrations for the world’s longest-running jewellery and goldsmithing exhibition.
The upcoming edition, taking place from January 19 to 23 at the Vicenza Expo Centre, marks a major milestone for an event that has remained constantly contemporary for seven decades—a place to discover the latest trends and explore new styles and designs.
Known as The Jewellery Boutique Show, Vicenzaoro will once again anticipate 2024’s trends, offering a unique opportunity for networking and inspiration by meeting the industry’s most cutting-edge designers. Covering the entire supply chain, the show will be held in conjunction with T.GOLD, the international exhibition dedicated to jewellery machinery, providing a complete overview of the latest technologies in manufacturing and processing, as well as components, semi-finished products, diamonds, and gemstones.
At the end of the January edition, IEG will begin major renovations of the old “snail” (Hall 2) and Hall 5 to make way for a new, more functional pavilion that will reshape and expand the exhibition centre’s capacity.
VICENZAORO 1954–2024: THE HERITAGE FOR TOMORROW
This edition’s theme, “The Heritage for Tomorrow”, highlights the show's growth over the years, establishing itself as one of the most important B2B jewellery trade fairs in the world. The celebrations will feature a special exhibition with seven key stages—one for each decade—retracing the themes, venues, and personalities that have contributed to the iconic success of Vicenzaoro. From football legend Diego Armando Maradona to former Italian President Francesco Cossiga, the milestones and events of past editions will be part of a broader narrative celebrating the fair and the evolution of jewellery. Young talents will be involved, with a focus on themes such as sustainability, innovation, education, and international standards. A dedicated anniversary logo will mark all official communications, along with online content accessible to the entire community.
FROM LOCAL EXCELLENCE TO GLOBAL LEADERSHIP
First launched in 1954 as a regional trade fair showcasing local craftsmanship, and later named Vicenzaoro in the 1980s, the event has, over the decades, built a legacy of relationships, expertise, and values. This anniversary fully embodies the consolidation of its strategic market leadership and its strong international impact.
A STRONG BOND WITH THE VICENZA GOLDSMITHING DISTRICT AND THE CITY
Vicenzaoro’s 70th anniversary also celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit of one of the region’s most important manufacturing sectors, and the vital role played by the territory that hosts it.
The city of Vicenza is home to numerous goldsmithing institutions, from historic ateliers to the Museo del Gioiello (Jewellery Museum), and even a dedicated “golden street” that runs through the city centre. This deep-rooted expertise reinforces Vicenzaoro’s global credibility.
During the fair, the city itself will take centre stage as part of the anniversary celebrations. Select shop windows throughout the historic centre will tell the story of VO70 and goldsmithing history—offering QR codes and links to themed digital content for visitors and locals alike.
