Take, for example, aluminium—a material that might be hard to imagine in the display window of a prestigious jeweller, yet it offers great surprises thanks to its malleability, which allows for the creation of innovative and complex pieces, refined in design but highly resistant.
Also extraordinary are the jewels made from light titanium, one of the most beloved “alternative” materials due to its incredible lightness, even though it is notoriously difficult to work with because of its extremely high melting point. These pieces require skilled hands and fine craftsmanship, but the results are worth it.
Copper is also highly appreciated in the latest generation of high jewellery, with its contrasts producing truly remarkable pieces. Finally, crystal, long established in jewellery-making for its lightness and transparency, is now being used in a new way: as a base in which to set precious stones. This mineral, characterised by a geometrically regular and infinitely repeating structure, brings a new creative dimension to jewellery design.
Beyond platinum, gold, and silver, there are numerous materials—some still to be explored—that offer room for creativity and innovation, with a growing preference for reuse and recycling, meeting the expectations of younger, more conscious clients who care about eco-sustainability.
Innovative and green jewellery.
