The meaning of fluid forms in jewellery

The meaning of fluid forms in jewellery

To follow the natural flow of things, to relinquish rigidity, and to make room for change: it is within this horizon that the language of fluid forms moves, defined by continuous lines, gentle curves, and open surfaces. An aesthetic that speaks of connection, transformation, and openness. Jewellery appears like waves of gold and diamonds, poised to “break” upon the body, as seen in the Connection collection by 1909 Callegari, which embraces fluidity as a metaphor for bond, promoting a concept of genuine relationship and exchange among ideas, perspectives, and individuals. Jewels give tangible form to the value of sharing, overcoming differences to unite even the most diverse souls. Annamaria Cammilli explores the same idea through an aesthetic bordering on sculpture. Velvet surfaces and airy volumes combine with a design free from rigid symmetry, embracing continuous variation. Here, fluidity engages the senses, evoking a notion of beauty balanced between strength and softness. With the Hiroko collection, Mattioli adds to this narrative a reference to Eastern harmony. The oval shapes, essential and devoid of edges, evoke measured elegance, composed of calibrated gestures and lines that seem to have neither beginning nor end. Continuity becomes both a compositional choice and a way of conceiving jewellery as an extension of an inner movement.
