Sustainable packaging: here are the converted brands

Sustainable packaging: here are the converted brands

The world of sustainable packaging in the fashion and luxury sectors is today a reality. Or rather, an increasingly widespread practice.

Even the last step of the supply chain, therefore, must represent the green choice of a brand, and The Current Daily has compiled a ranking of eight brands that are riding on the sustainable packaging trend.

Among the most active companies Pvh, which owns brands such as Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger and which has set out to pursue ambitious sustainability objectives, such as the use of 100% sustainable and ethical packaging by 2025. According to the 2018 Corporate Responsibility Report ,74% of the packaging used by the group is recyclable. Pvh was also the first clothing company to join How2Recycle, a project launched by the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, which tells customers how to recycle packaging materials.

Asos, then, is deployed on the front line in support of sustainable policies and uses 25% of recycled material for the bags that wrap the shipped products and the delivery boxes are made 100% from reused materials.

In 2018, London-based luxury retailer Matches Fashion kicked off a strategy aimed at reducing the environmental impact caused by product packaging. The company has therefore set about adopting recyclable packaging with reduced dimensions, as well as incorporating materials from sustainable sources into them.

Green is also the Prana fashion label specializing in sportswear and lifestyle clothing which, for packaging, uses recycled paper and soy-based ink, and New Zealander Maggie Marilyn, a women's clothing brand that uses bags made with corn starch that guarantee a 60% reduction in C02 emissions caused by traditional plastic bags.
