In Florence, the new Buccellati boutique

The new Buccellati boutique on Via Tornabuoni in Florence marks a return to the maison’s origins: it was here, in 1929, that founder Mario Buccellati, together with his brother Melchiorre, opened his third store, a key milestone in the brand’s expansion across Italy. The project renews the brand’s connection with Florence’s cultural heritage, a city that continues to inspire the quality and aesthetic language of its jewellery and silverware collections. The space extends over 172 square metres across three levels, with a contemporary interior designed to preserve the character of Mario Buccellati’s historic workshops. The façade, conceived as a historic-style display window, introduces an exhibition path that begins with an imposing chandelier in the first room, a central element of the lighting design concept. The original ceiling of the building has been preserved in respect of its architectural heritage, while the insertion of antique mirrors has been designed to enhance the perception of space. The walls feature hand-crafted stucco work that emphasizes the texture of the surfaces, while the traditional Seminato Veneziano flooring completes the intervention, recalling Italy’s historic marble inlay techniques.
