On 23 May 2026, Nomisma Aste will hold its Collectible Watch Auction, a new appointment dedicated to enthusiasts of fine watchmaking. The sale will feature vintage models alongside more recent creations, including rare pieces, high-complication watches and a selection of limited editions. The catalogue brings together wristwatches, pocket watches and also a carriage clock, with a significant presence of some of the most iconic maisons, including Piaget, Omega, Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet, Cartier, Rolex and Parmigiani Fleurier. Opening the sale is a group of five Piaget timepieces in gold cases with natural stone dials, a typology highly appreciated in the 1970s and now back at the center of collector interest, lots 1 to 5. Of particular note is the Vacheron Constantin Triple Date, a complicated watch featuring a perpetual calendar, a dual date window and running seconds at six o’clock. The case of this very rare timepiece is in steel, with drop-shaped gold soldered lugs (lot 27, estimate €15,000). Featured on the cover are four watches with rattrapante complication, one of the most sophisticated expressions of haute horlogerie, allowing the measurement of split times without stopping the main chronograph hand. Not to be missed is the Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Tourbillon 2840, a synthesis of traditional elegance and mechanical complexity (lot 90, estimate €32,000). This watch pays tribute to the legacy and expertise of the brand’s founders, while also honoring both historical and contemporary craftsmanship. It features a 40 mm platinum case, a double knurled bezel and faceted, angled lugs. The dial is not a conventional dial at all: in its place, the movement itself is visible, beautifully decorated with a vertical Côtes de Genève finish. Among the more modern pieces is the Omega Speedmaster “Moon to Mars” (lot 15, estimate €6,500). A tribute to NASA’s space program, which, through the creation of a permanent lunar base, envisioned as its ultimate goal the landing of a crewed spacecraft on Mars. Also noteworthy is the Franck Muller “Vegas” 6850VGS (lot 94, estimate €4,000). The brand’s watches are renowned for their unconventional design. This reference 6850 has a distinctive feature: the dial includes a fully functioning roulette wheel at its center, activated by a pusher integrated into the crown. A timepiece designed for those who love Las Vegas and the world of gambling. Finally, a selection of pocket watches includes, among others, a standout Patek Philippe Gondolo chronometer. An elegant 18 kt gold “onion” watch complete with its original box (lot 98, estimate €4,000). Also of particular interest is an Universal Watch quarter-repeater with an 18 kt gold case (lot 99, estimate €1,600).
