PdPaola at Fuorisalone 2026: jewellery becomes an installation

PdPaola brings its vision to Milan Design Week with Crafted to Transcend, an installation set in the Cortile d’Onore of the University of Milan as part of the Interni Materiae exhibition (April 20–30, 2026). Founder and Creative Director Paola Sasplugas sets out to translate the language of jewellery into experiential architecture. “I trust my intuition. If I feel it, then it’s right. Designing jewellery is like looking deep into my soul,” she said. Inspired by the fluid morphology of the brand’s iconic Glacier earring, the large-scale installation takes the form of an organic structure defined by smooth, semi-polished and deliberately raw surfaces, all crafted by hand to frame design as a dynamic, responsible process rooted in human intervention. Developed by Paola with Angela Roman, sections of the work are intentionally left open to public interaction: visitors are invited to carve and engrave the central 3D plaster surface, gradually reshaping the installation over the course of the exhibition. As time passes, the plaster will crumble and settle at the base, marking both the passage of time and the collective gesture of its participants. A statement that reasserts the value of artisanal savoir-faire, elevating it into an emotional, shared and deeply personal experience.
